BANTUAN AMERIKA SERIKAT TERHADAP KOSOVO PASCA KEMERDEKAAN TAHUN 2008

Abstract

  On 17 February 2008, Kosovo declared independence from Serbia. Kosovo has many
reasons why it wants to break away from Serbia, the United States is the first country to recognize
Kosovo’s Independence. The United States has provided much assistance to Kosovo, one of them
through United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Behind the assistance provided
there is a United States interest that is to maintain the stability of Transatlantic, expand
eksport markets and make Kosovo as a United States anti-missile defense. This research uses
historical approach, with descriptive-qualitative analysis model, research type of literature
study, and data retrieval method that is through documentary analysis, book, journal, report, and
internet
site. To analyze it, researchers use constructivism theory to cultivate conflict in a
transformative way. The findings in this study are derived from the theory of constructivism, where
this theory can answer how the country befriended and hostile. There are several elements of
identity, actors,
interests, international norms and motives. If the elements are well established between the two
countries then there will be friendship between them. But if the element is not established, then
the absence of relations between the two countries will even lead to hostilities.
